Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Sandglass app. By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

The app

Sandglass is a task timer, provided as-is. It keeps a record of the time you spend on things, and, if you turn on Hours mode, works out a knock-off time and a running balance from the hours you give it. It keeps that record on your device and is not a backup or storage service.

What the numbers are, and are not

Every figure Sandglass shows is arithmetic on what you entered: the entries you recorded or corrected, the hours you set, the day types you painted and the opening balance you typed in. It is a helpful approximation and a personal record, not a timesheet, a payroll record or a legal record of hours worked, and it does not know your employer's rules. If a balance matters to you, check it against the figure your workplace holds, and if the two disagree, the day cards are where to find out why.

Early Access

While Sandglass is in Early Access it is a released app that is still changing: features can be added, altered or withdrawn between builds, and updates arrive automatically. The rest of these terms apply in full.

Licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

Free

Sandglass is free. There is nothing to buy in the app, nothing to subscribe to and nothing to cancel, so these terms have no purchase to govern.

Your content

The tasks, entries and settings you put in Sandglass are yours. Sandglass does not upload them, and keeps the record on your device.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it stable and pleasant to use, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zone7 Studios Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Where our liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the app or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version, and using the app after a change means the updated terms apply. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you break these terms, and we may withdraw an app from the stores or stop updating it. None of this affects the consumer rights you have under law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Nothing here affects any consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
